As explained on our homepage, Saltmine Theatre Company is a professional theatre company and Christian charity. Much of their work is 'Theatre in Education' - delivering high quality creative performances and interactive workshops in primary and secondary schools throughout the UK. This 'TIE' work in schools communicates educational messages through the creative arts that relate to and support the Primary Schools' R.E. syllabus. Saltmine's productions and workshops work well in both multi-faith and secular environments. The company always aspires to a very high standard.
In March 2024 we arranged for Saltmine to spend half a day in each of 21 Primary Schools in and around St Albans. The group of actors presented a play to all Primary School year groups. They also led a drama workship for older Key Stage 2 pupils. The play was presented to around 4,000 pupils, with workshops run for 1,400 pupils.
